Talk about feeling old...........

I was thinking about my favorite shows from when I was a kid recently.........
I absolutely loved "Land of the Lost" and I never missed it. I was petrified of the Sleestaks (I had to look up how to spell it), I really was. In fact, I remember it being so real.......the giant strawberries Holly would pick? Even when the raft went over the ciff or Falls, that was real...well not too long ago, I saw an episode....maybe TV LAND, I don't remember but it was so ridiculous and fake......I couldn't believe it was the same show. I still hated her hairy friend as much as I did then.

At least I can get an autographed photo of Holly for $28.00 for sweet memories.

Where is she now??

My sister loved Sigmund and the Seamonster and I liked that too. It was sweet. My sister sometimes still talks about his Mama.......I forget her name but my sister loved that show.
I think all of the H &R Puff N Stuff were pretty good. Remember the Bungaloos?

I think I liked the Banana Spilts least and that was a little before my time. But I remember it well. I didn't like the Electric Company though.........I hated how Ruth Buzby would yell "Hey yoooooouuuu Guys"
It scared me.

I did however, love and never missed this show!!

I still love the song and know all the words!

It just all looks so dated!! Man I am old!

I say it is about time and a great idea!

Being from philly, I have a soft spot in my heart for products and jazz muscians that come from Philadelphia. I love Goldenberg's Peanut Chews most of all but TastyKakes are pretty great too.
Leave it to the fattest city (well USED to be) in America to come out with this great idea!

I think it is about time.........all this talk of low cal, and low carb..........bring it on!

On a side note, how smart and rich is that jared doofus from Subway? I can't stand looking at him......he's darn smart though. Lose weight then approach the company, posing as a regular Joe, ready to share your testimonial with a world that just doesn't care. Smart and he's rich now.

If only it could be.........

At my office, there is a woman, that sounds exactly like "Shirley" from What's Happening!
I can't stand it........I so want it to be her. I can pick her out of a crowd!
I have high walls in my office so I can't see this person only hear her...........

Sweet Shirl--RIP

Ok, maybe I am an animal nutter!

Listen, I loved my pets (except those rabbits) but I think that if you get to the point of these products........you might want to put the pet out of its misery right?

If you had a monkey you might invest in diapers.........good idea!!

On a side note: I also had a pet clam that I got in Ocean City, NJ when I was about 5. My mom let me bring it to the motel from the beach but made me keep it outside........needless to say it died. It kept coming out of the shell for what I thought was a drink of water. I was never allowed to have those hermit crabs either......there might be a market for hermit crab diapers.......then they can go all around and not have to stay in that cage.

I promise I am not an animal nut......

My last blogs have been animal related so it is a perfectly normal assumption that I might be an animal nutter but I promise I'm not....I guess I might be a bit but I eat and wear meat.....
But let's face it, news has been slow and boring..........

anyway, I was watching some show and these two men that owned and showed some little dog took it to a dentist for teeth whitening........I know that show dogs have their hair done and sprayed and adult human things done to them just like poor little pagent girls do......except spray tanning..........

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/14/sports/othersports/14dogs.html?_r=1&8hpib&oref=slogin

what will they think of next?

I guess I could have saved the eggs of my last dog, before we had her "fixed"......then I could have more puppies like her........forever and ever. I read that it takes only 9 weeks for a dog to have puppies......that is great! I would have puppies every other month just to have them....
I've never seen anything born and I would love to have puppies.........

Anyway, I know that champion horses have their sperm frozen so why not champion dogs?

It just seems strange to me for some reason. Not sure why exactly.

Olympic Fever.........say what?

Well, I am NOT a fan of the Olympics, most people know that about me......
I am not sure why I can't stand them because I enjoy watching skiing, gymnastics, bob sleeding, ice skating etc......certain events I like to watch....but all in all, I have to say I don't like it. I would rather watch the Wide World of Sports on sat which might not even be on anymore. I guess I like the winter olympics more than the summer ones........snooze.
it is like baseball on TV, if you want to take a nice nap, put on the olympics. The music is nostalgic though.........
but one thing I am a fan of and I feel it was snubbed in a big way is the Westminster Dog Show.
I happened to stumble upon it last night on channel USA. It WASN'T even on Animal Planet! What's up with that? The Eukanuba Dog Show was on last week, and that was on Animal Planet.
Anyway, I found it accidentally and it had just started. In fact, I missed NO dogs..........
I really don't understand all the groupings. I mean, a herding dog works right? They have a job so why are some working dogs and some are herding dogs? The Terriers have their own group because they are many in terriers as a breed but most of them, if not all of them "work". They work hard too. What about the non-sporting group? They work too. Some are retrievers.........I don't get it. I think there should be the working group or class dogs and the toy cute but insignificant group.......the ones that don't work, just look pretty.

One dog that I am in love with, is this little fella.

http://www.europuppy.com/europu_refimages/111_kicsi.jpg

These are Italian dogs and I have to admit, I can not imagine any of my Italian friends or relatives having such a slobbery mate.
In fact, I would make a bet, no one in Italy has this dog. Maybe on a farm...........
I am in love though.

The other dog that I like a lot is the Otterhound. I am a sucker for hound dogs and I even love an otter. How cute are otters? This dog is a little rare so I don't see the day that I get one.......

http://www.puppydogweb.com/caninebreeds/otterhnd.htm

I am a real sucker for a working dog, with webbed feet. Lots of respect there! (tapping my chest and making the "much respect" motion"

For a time I read a lot about this Hungarian breed (web footed herder)......one is large and one is small. I really thought that I wanted the smaller one only they need very special grooming and can smell wet for days and days due to the corded hair........that novelty wore off quickly.

If you are thinking about getting a dog, it is a great idea to watch the dog show. You can learn a lot about the breed. I know to stay far away when the commentators say things like "can be dominant or territorial", "can shed", and most important "needs special grooming".

I could devote an entire blog to dogs, the ones that work........the ones that herd.....the ones that drool..........

on a side note:
Don't get your sweetie a dog for Valentine's Day. Pets as gifts aren't usually good ideas......
